Sourdough shaped by hand every morning, German specialities cooked the way they should be, and our own craft beer — a few steps from Lake Arenal.
Our story
Since 1997 we have been baking in Nuevo Arenal the way it is done back home: long fermentation, real sourdough, and everything shaped by hand before the sun is up.
Tom's sourdough loaves — baguette, ciabatta and wholegrain — come out fresh every day and go straight into our sandwiches. The kitchen does the rest: Bavarian Weisswurst with a pretzel, schnitzel with potato salad, goulash with homemade spätzle, apple strudel, and a gallo pinto for those who want Costa Rica on the plate.
We brew our own beer too. And whether you eat vegan, gluten-free or sugar-free, there is a full page of the menu waiting for you.

What makes us us
Baguette, ciabatta and wholegrain, fermented slowly and shaped by hand fresh every morning.
German Bakery Beer — Hefeweizen and IPA — alongside Erdinger, Paulaner and Costa Rican craft.
Not an afterthought: vegan bratwurst plates, burgers, sandwiches and gluten-free pasta, all on the menu.
Seven days a week, 7am to 5pm. Breakfast from 8 to 11, and the display case full until closing.
